Audio Technica Headphones

People who travel frequently often have different considerations for picking out headphones.

They are usually particular about audio quality and portability. Frequent travellers also usually consider some form of noise cancelling, whether it is passive or active, for their headphones. This can be even more difficult if you’re working with a sub $200 budget. Fortunately, Audio Technica has introduced the ATH-ANC1 QuietPoint Audio Technica Headphones. The ATH-ANC1 usually retails for about $130, but comes with many features commonly found in more expensive Audio Technica headphones.

Audio Technica is one of the leaders when it comes to headphones technology. Many audiophiles and industry professionals use Audio Technica products to get the most out of their music or in the actual production of music itself. Given this proud history, the ATH-ANC1 QuietPoint Audio Technica Headphones is one of the best headphones for people who are looking for top-notch audio quality in a portable package.

The ATH-ANC1 QuietPoint Audio Technica Headphones is one of the most compact on-ear headphones in the market today. It was built with a very thin, adjustable headband and a pair of very compact earpieces. Oddly enough, Audio Technica omitted using the foam that can usually be found lining earpieces to further reduce size and weight. At first glance, this might cause undue discomfort, but that notion will be dispelled as soon as you put them on. The ATH-ANC1 is a very comfortable pair of headphones. The headphone’s earpieces are lined with a soft leatherette type of material and are very small at 1.7 inches in diameter. The headband might seem a bit fragile, but it does the job nicely.

The ATH-ANC1 also comes with a thick and sturdy black cable, which was made with durability in mind. This is important since travel headphones generally have to deal with more abuse than their indoor counterparts. A noise cancellation module is also located somewhere along the length of the cable. This module is conveniently situated, allowing users to clip it onto a belt or just keep it in their pants. There is another cable that runs from the noise cancellation module and terminates in a gold-plated plug for use with a portable media player.

The ATH-ANC1 QuietPoint Audio Technica Headphones has impressive noise cancellation abilities for its price. It can easily block out sounds that you typically hear in noisy bus stations and busy airports. Sound quality is also very impressive with crystal clear definition, defined bass and above average mids and impressive highs. Suffice to say, you don’t normally find this level of audio quality in most sub $200 headphones. The ATH-ANC1 is pretty versatile; you can use it for almost any genre of music with satisfying results. However, it is interesting to note that these headphones are not as loud as other headphones, and people who like listening to loud music might not be satisfied. However, the excellent noise cancellation feature more than makes up for the lack of volume, since most people crank up their volumes to drown out outside noise, anyway.
